First Cohort of SAL Nigeria and Africa Pre-LL.M. Graduates Will Soon Receive Their Diplomas

The diplomas for the first cohort of graduates of the SAL Nigeria and Africa Pre-LL.M. Programme have been issued, signed by the Dean of Chicago-Kent College of Law and will be dispatched to Nigeria in the coming days.

Having successfully completed the Pre-LL.M. Programme, they are now qualified to proceed to the LL.M. stage within three years after the lifting of the current U.S. visa restrictions affecting Nigerian nationals.

SAL is the first and only programme in Africa that provides an opportunity to earn a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in the United States with a 70% tuition scholarship and without the requirement to take the TOEFL examination.

The programme consists of two interconnected stages:

  • Pre-LL.M. (compulsory) — delivered online;
  • LL.M. (optional) — undertaken on campus at Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology (Chicago, USA), after successful completion of the Pre-LL.M. stage and the award of a diploma carrying 10 academic credits, signed by the Dean of Chicago-Kent College of Law.

Participants who successfully complete the SAL Nigeria and Africa Programme are entitled to:

  • the guaranteed opportunity to continue their LL.M. studies at Chicago-Kent College of Law, IIT, within three years after the lifting of the visa restrictions;
  • guaranteed admission to Chicago-Kent College of Law, IIT (Chicago, USA), subject to successful completion of the SAL Programme and satisfaction of admission requirements;
  • a 70% tuition scholarship for the LL.M. programme;
  • exemption from the TOEFL examination requirement;
  • support with obtaining a U.S. student visa.

Nigerian students can commence their studies through the online Pre-LL.M. stage as early as this year and proceed to continue their education at Chicago-Kent College of Law within three years after the lifting of the visa restrictions.
